From his graduation film Hooker & Son drawing plaudits from international director George Miller (Happy Feet) to producing commercials that have garnered Gold and Silver Lions at the Cannes International Commercial Festival, the world's most prestigious commercials award, and on into screenwriting Philip has steadily increased his reputation as a filmmaker.

After graduating film school he was the In-House Producer for John Street, considered Australia's premiere commercial photographer, who was venturing into commercial production. The “Lions” testify to the quality of production Philip was responsible for.  John encouraged Philip to develop his photography skills and afterwards Philip maintained a photography sideline. By the time he left Australia he had received assignments from several leading Australian Fashion Magazines.

He also worked with awarding winning director Peter Tammer, producing several shorts and documentaries, including Journey into Fear winner Best Documentary at the Melbourne and Edinburgh Film Festivals. Philip further co-created/co-directed/produced Australia’s first feature length video drama, The Feature Video Drama.

This led to his joining Australia’s biggest production company’s, Crawford Productions, directing department, first working on the long running  Carson’s Law , an early Nicole Kidman series,  followed by Special Squad, then Australia’s biggest action series and the first co-production series between Australia and a US Studio (Paramount).Philip started writing seriously – quickly selling his first screen play.  Tri-Star based Chestnut Hill Prods, purchased his treatment for the murder mystery thriller Dead Heart,  which Philip Noyce (The Quiet American, Clear and Present Danger, Bone Collectors) was attached to direct.  This brought Philip to LA on a full time basis.

He now has 3 single credits on produced screenplays (Face of the Enemy, and The Expendables) and has ghost written, used pseudonym, contributed a number of others.  He has worked with producers such David Permut (Dragnet, etc.), Lauren Weissman (Love You to Death, Sweetheart's Dance etc.), the John Davies Co., Lucas Foster (ex-prod Bad Boys, Crimson Tide, etc.), Bill Stewart (The Rock) and others.  He has received approximately 25 writing assignments and a similar number of sales and options.

Monsters, a syndicated TV series produced by Laurel Entertainment (A division of Spelling Entertainment), was Philip’s first US series directing assignment.

He recently finished as production consultant for a Spanish language evangelistic broadcaster.  The Brazilian based Church is the fastest growing Christian Church in the world and a major media conglomerate in South America.  Working form LA’s first pure digital studio they produced an average 12 hours of TV a week and in production vale were the close competitors to the Crystal Cathedral. Further he consulted on a several features they produced based on the Spanish markets premiere romance novelist’s books.

 

Photographically he has shot George Clooney, Ben Stiller, Victoria Secret’s supermodels Adrianna Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and others, with his work published around the world.  He continues his photographic efforts.

 

He produced/ directed /wrote Drop Dead Gorgeous, a dark comedy set in the fashion world.  The film stars US TV star Jeremy London and British theater legend Steven Berkoff.   It is been picked up by both International and Domestic (eOne) Distribution – selling to Showtime, Amazon etc.

 

Philip is working Inquisitors, a female lead off-beat comedy thriller about post traumatic ex-nuns failing to solve a priest’s murder in outback Australia as well as preparing a TV series version of his film Drop Dead Gorgeous and his newest project Skinless which he is very excited about.
